Split & Trogir Shore Excursion

What is the best shore excursion in Split, Croatia?

By booking a private tour of two historic gems, Trogir and Split, you will make the best of your short stay in Croatia, confident that you will certainly not miss your cruise ship. Why? Simply because you wouldn’t travel far. In fact, your cruise ship will remain within sight most of the time.

    Description

The pick-up is arranged at the cruise ship port gate. Your tour guide will be holding a sign with your name on it.

Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage site is situated some 25 kilometres away from Split. As you approach Trogir in an air-conditioned luxury sedan or minivan, you will learn a lot about Croatia and Split. The walking tour of Trogir, a charming island-town, consists of a gentle stroll through the medieval maze of streets.

The central square is dominated by the intricate Cathedral of St. Lawrence, famous for its unbelievably preserved Romanesque portal from 1242.

The city hall, Loggia and the Cippico Residences will also draw your attention. Finally, your tour guide will take you to the Trogir Riva, city waterfront promenade, ade give you suggestions on what to do at your free time. We certainly recommend crossing the Čiovo bridge to get some spectacular views of “Little Venice”.

Next, your tour guide will meet up with you and take you back to Split. A guided visit of the historic centre of Split is both the most essential and the most fascinating feature of the entire trip: Ancient Roman imperial palace that has evolved into a thriving city, with layers upon layers of architectural styles creating a mesmerising effect. Marvel as your private guide weaves Egyptian sphynxes, Roman temples, renaissance chapels and a baroque Sephardic synagogue into an incredible story.

Not surprisingly, UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, classified historic Split and its Emperor Diocletian’s palace as the world heritage of history.

At the conclusion of the tour, your tour guide will recommend best taverns and restaurants in town and propose other activities. Depending on the schedule, your free time in Split can be further extended, since you will be able to simply walk back to your cruise ship. At moderate pace, it takes some 10 minutes to walk back to the cruise ship port.

Alternatively, you can arrange your driver to pick you up and drive you back to your ship.
